Bali – Jimbaran Beach Seafood Restaurant

We decided to have our first Bali dinner at Jimbaran Beach after hearing how romantic it is to have our dinner on the beach with a dim light and at the same time enjoying the sunset. Set off around 4pm plus and due to the forever traffic jam, we reached there   around 6pm. If you wanna make sure you see the sunset, be sure to reach there at 5pm. Sunset is around 5.30pm.

Was introduced by the Astana Batubelig Villa‘s staff to have our dinner at Seaside Cafe. One of the many restaurant that lies along Jimbaran Beach.

table number 27

Ushered in to table 27. Table was set up randomly depending on where we want it to be. More tables will be added to the sand when there are more customer. Doesn’t take long before they get you seated.

Jimbaran beach

Sky were already this dark at 6pm. No sunset for us : (

Still, we went for a walk along the beach before the food are served

choosing seafood

The staff showed us the price list of different seafood at our table before leading us to choose the seafood. You can choose the size you want and the staff will weigh it in front of you. No cheat.

squid

We chose a 600g (not too big) squid for IDR 82k/ $10.9 SGD, a 1.14kg Garaupa for IDR189k/ $25 SGD and Mussel 1.12kg for 10 of them priced at IDR114k/ $15SGD. You can choose to fried them or have them bbq

bbq squid

BBQ Squid. Cut into too small pieces, bbq until a bit hard. Good to have it with beer.

mussel and fish

The garaupa was fresh. Abit crispy on the side and meat was nice. What was bad was the mussel. A waste of money. We can’t finish it.

veg and squid

When you order seafood, the package come with chili kang kong, rice and fruits. Be sure to order Bintang beer along with your seafood.

If you are lucky, you may find other tourists putting fireworks to the black starry sky. Its so close to you and so romantic.

sweet corn seller

Lonely sweet corn  seller in the empty beach. I aimed him since way before I start my seafood dinner

corn seller

Finally have it for take away even with a bloated stomach. Sweet corn is one of my favorite. Seem like it keep calling for me.

Overall, Jimbaran Beach seem like a place where we pay for the atmosphere and not really for the best of food. I feel most restuarant should be almost the same just don’t get cheated.
